25 – 26 May 2026 – Vintage Watch Evaluation
This 2-day training is designed for watch buyers, traders, jewelers, repair intake staff, collectors, and enthusiasts who want to develop a structured and reliable approach to evaluating vintage watches and avoid costly purchasing mistakes.
Participants will learn how to evaluate wristwatches from the 1920s onward. The course covers assessment of originality, finishing techniques, overall condition, materials, movement construction and function, identification of defects, and financial valuation.
The course is delivered over two full days.
- Day 1: Morning introduction to horology; afternoon laboratory session focused on visual inspection.
- Day 2: Morning session on opening the case; afternoon practical evaluations using real examples, followed by the examination.
Daily schedule: 09:30–17:00. Lunch is provided. In the evening the student can expect to prepare for the test on the next day.
Assessment & Certification Information:
- Will learners be tested? Yes
- Type of assessment: Theoretical exam plus a practical component involving the description and evaluation of two watches
- Passing criteria:
- 80% minimum score on multiple-choice exam
- 80% minimum score on descriptive evaluation
- Retake policy: One retake is permitted. If the exam is failed a second time, the full course must be retaken. The fee for a second exam attempt is €85.
- Certificate issued: Chronoglide Vintage Watch Valuation Certificate
- Valid for two years
- Refresher course and renewal exam available online upon expiration

This training is suitable for accreditation purposes, employer reimbursement, and internal quality control.
