The Chronoglide workshop is situated in the small, but beautiful, typical Dutch, town of Grootschermer. The town itself houses only one restaurant, one watchmaking store, and that’s about it. There is a parking lot right opposite the workshop.
We don’t have any arrangements with hotels and/or bed and breakfasts.
Students often find Airbnb’s in the town of Grootschermer, or its direct surroundings, which makes it easy to commute to and from the workshop, but leaves out a little action after class. Getting to Grootschermer by public transportation from Amsterdam, Alkmaar and Schiphol Airport is possible, but it will take a while as busses are not that regular in Grootschermer.
Another great option is to stay in the town of Alkmaar, a medium sized Dutch Town, with a lovely old city center and plenty of places to stay and eat. A rental car is convenient as the bus from Alkmaar to Grootschermer is not the best of options. Check with hotels on parking options.
Some students have stayed in Amsterdam. The drive is 45 minutes to an hour (without traffic). Amsterdam of course has numerous places to stay and eat.
