Have the watch. Now know the watch.
In October 2026, Chronoglide will launch something new: the Chronoglide Connaisseurs Training — a fully online training program for everyone who loves, collects, trades, or works with watches and wants to understand them better.
You simply need to be curious about watches.
The Connaisseurs Training is designed to bridge the gap between owning a watch and truly understanding it. Across a series of online modules, we explore the subjects that watch enthusiasts regularly encounter:
- How do I know if a watch is real?
- How do I properly maintain my watch or collection?
- How do mechanical and quartz watches work?
- What does water resistance really mean?
- What are complications, and how do they work?
- What should I know about winding and power reserve?
- How do I recognise the differences between brands and movements?
- What should I look for when buying a vintage watch?
- How is a watch valued?
- How did the watch industry — and timekeeping itself — develop?
Built from years of experience at the Chronoglide workshop
At the Chronoglide workshop, we have years of experience repairing and restoring watches from all kinds of backgrounds.
Over time, we realised that many customers, collectors, traders, and enthusiasts ask us the same questions. We have now brought those questions — and the knowledge behind the answers — together in one complete training program.
There is an enormous amount of information about watches available online. The challenge is knowing what is correct, what really matters, and how everything fits together.
The Connaisseurs Training brings that knowledge together in one structured program, explained in the practical and straightforward Chronoglide style.
Much of the program is based on the questions, watches, and situations we encounter every day in our workshop. Why shouldn’t you swim with a vintage watch? What does a power reserve actually mean? What makes one movement different from another? How do you recognise warning signs when buying a watch? And what exactly are people talking about when they mention a tourbillon, GMT, chronograph, or perpetual calendar?
These are the things that make owning, collecting, trading, and discussing watches considerably more interesting.
Or, as we like to say:
Nice to know when you’re at the golf course.
Two ways to learn
The Connaisseurs Training will be available in two versions.
Explorer is for those who simply want access to the knowledge. You can explore the modules and lessons at your own pace and concentrate on the subjects that interest you most. You will have access to the program for two years.
Certified Connaisseur follows a structured learning path, including quizzes and a final assessment. Complete the program successfully and you will receive your Chronoglide Connaisseurs certification.
Both versions follow the same central philosophy: learning about watches should be enjoyable, understandable, and genuinely useful.
Coming October 2026
We are currently putting the finishing touches on the lessons, videos, exercises, and online learning environment.
The Chronoglide Connaisseurs Training will officially go live in October 2026.
More information about the program, registration, and exact launch date will follow shortly.
